Police issue appeal to trace man after attempted burglary in Newcastle

Detectives investigating an attempted burglary in Newcastle have released an image of a man who they would like to trace.

Just before 1am on January 22, officers responded to reports of an attempted burglary at an address on Maling Terrace in Ouseburn.

It was reported that a suspicious man turned up outside the victim’s front door and tried the handle.

After the suspicious man was disturbed by the occupants he made off from the scene empty-handed.

Northumbria Police has now launched an investigation into the incident.

Officers have identified a man who they would like to speak to in connection with the attempted burglary.

He was seen in the area at the time and could have valuable information that can assist the investigation.

The man, or anyone who recognises him, is asked to contact police via the ‘Tell Us Something’ page or by calling 101 quoting crime number 008668T/22
