Police have released CCTV of a man they’d like to speak to after a teenager was sexually assaulted - (British Transport Police)

The British Transport Police have released CCTV footage of a man who allegedly assaulted a teenage girl on a train.

Just before 7pm on March 14, a man boarded the train at Crewe railway station, and sat next to a teenage girl.

He is then believed to have sexually assaulted her before exiting the train at Manchester Piccadilly.

Detectives are now looking to speak to the man pictured in the CCTV image in an effort to obtain more information.

Anyone who recognises him is asked to contact the British Transport Police by texting 61016 or calling 0800 40 50 40, quoting reference 639 of 17 March.

Information can also be given anonymously to Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
