Police investigating stabbing at McDonald's issue CCTV appeal to the public

Police are asking members of the public for CCTV and dashcam footage, following a suspected stabbing at a McDonald's in Salford.

A 15-year-old was rushed to hospital with serious injuries after the incident, which is believed to have taken place at the restaurant on Bury New Road, Higher Broughton. Emergency services had called to nearby Basten Drive at 7.10pm on Saturday evening (March 4) following concerns for the welfare of the victim.

An investigation is underway, GMP confirmed, and officers are appealing for CCTV, mobile, and dashcam footage. A force spokesman said: "Police are appealing for information after a stabbing in Higher Broughton.

"At around 7:10pm on Saturday 4 March 2023, officers were called to a concern for welfare of a young man on Basten Drive, Salford. Emergency services attended the scene, and a 15-year-old was taken to hospital with serious injuries. It is believed that the incident occurred at the McDonalds restaurant in Higher Broughton, Salford.

"Police have followed a number of enquires and are now in a position to appeal to members of the public for further information. Officers are particularly keen to speak to anyone who may have any CCTV, mobile, or dashcam footage from the area before, during, or after the incident occurred."
