Police are investigating an assault in Rutherglen which hospitalised a man.
A male was transported by road ambulance to the Queen Elizabeth University Hospital as a result of the incident. The full extent of his injuries is currently unknown.
Officers and paramedics raced to the scene of the attack that occurred at around 3.30pm yesterday in the Mill Street area of the town.
Three ambulances and a trauma team were dispatched to the location.
Police Scotland are now appealing to locals to contact them with any information about the incident.
A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “Around 3.30pm on Tuesday, July 11, 2023, police attended the Mill Street area of Rutherglen, following the assault of a man. The man was taken to hospital for treatment.
“Officers are following positive lines of enquiry, and a police presence will remain in the area as the investigation continues.
“Anyone with information on the incident is urged to call police on 101, quoting incident 2113 of July 11, 2023. Alternatively, you can call Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111 if you wish to remain anonymous.”
A Scottish Ambulance Service spokesperson added: “We received a call at 15:31 hours today to attend an incident in Rutherglen. We dispatched three ambulances and our trauma team to the scene. We transported one male patient to Queen Elizabeth University Hospital.”
