South Wales Police are continuing to investigate reports of an assault on a man in the city centre of Cardiff. Armed police were called to reports of an assault in the city centre the evening of Wednesday, May 11.
The force said that they are continuing to investigate reports of an assault on at 18-year-old man in Westgate Street on Wednesday evening. Officers attended Westgate Street and firearms officers were deployed as a precaution, according to South Wales Police.
A police helicopter was also seen hovering above parts of the city centre on Wednesday evening, including sightings above Bute Park and Cardiff Central Square. A spokesperson for South Wales Police said: "We are continuing to investigate reports of an assault on an 18-year-old man in Westgate Street at around 6pm yesterday. Several males were stop searched in the area following the incident. There have been no arrests and enquiries are continuing."
