Police investigating after CCTV footage emerges of brawl involving pool cues in South Shields pub

Police are investigating after CCTV footage emerged of a brawl taking place in a South Shields pub.

Footage has been shared on social media of an altercation taking place in what is understood to be the The Derby pub on Prince Edward Road, and appears to show a man being knocked out after being hit with a pool cue. The altercation happened shortly before 11.30am on December 30.

The footage, which has been widely shared on social media platforms, shows an argument taking place before a man picks up a pool ball from a table and throws it. Another man then hits him with a pool cue, knocking him to the floor as another customer appears to throw a pint glass at the fallen man.
