- Paul Edbrooke, emergency services minister for the state of Victoria in Australia, found a bullet etched with the word “RAT” on his car bonnet.
- The bullet was also inscribed with Mr Edbrooke's former firefighter identification number, leading him to believe he was being followed.
- Victoria Police detectives have launched an investigation into the threat against the state parliamentarian.
- Mr Edbrooke said he would not be bullied or intimidated by the threat, which comes amid an ongoing dispute between United Firefighters Union and Fire Rescue Victoria, an agency he oversees.
- United Firefighters Union secretary Peter Marshall unequivocally condemned the incident, saying the perpetrator does not act on behalf of firefighters.
