Police investigate separate violent incidents at Bendigo nightclubs, four taken to hospital

Police are investigating separate incidents at two Central Victorian nightclubs that have left three men and one woman in hospital.

Authorities say the two incidents occurred less than three hours apart in the Bendigo CBD.

It's alleged a fight broke out at The Metropolitan nightclub in Bendigo just after midnight in the early hours of Sunday, which resulted in a male being stabbed.

The victim, a man in his 20s, was taken to hospital in a serious but stable condition.

Two other men at the scene were also taken to hospital with head injuries.

Less than three hours later, police were called to an incident at a different nightclub.

This time it was responding to reports that a woman had fallen down a set of stairs following an altercation.

Man arrested, questions remain

Police executed a warrant at a Jackass Flat home on Sunday, where they arrested a man in his 20s over the alleged stabbing.

He has been charged with intentionally causing injury, assault with a weapon, trafficking cannabis and more.

He has been bailed to appear at Bendigo Magistrates Court on April 6.

A woman in her 20s was taken to hospital with head and arm injuries after she fell down stairs at a McCrae Street venue.

Police said there was an altercation before the fall at about 3:00am.

The exact circumstances are not yet known and investigations are ongoing.
