Authorities in Istanbul have initiated a large-scale investigation following a tragic shooting incident that resulted in the death of a Palestinian individual and left two others injured. The incident took place late Sunday on Dilaver Street in the Kagithane district of north Istanbul.
According to reports, the victims were sitting in a car when they were targeted by a masked assailant or assailants. The man in the driver's seat was fatally shot, while his friend sustained serious injuries. Additionally, another individual described as the deceased man's bodyguard was wounded in the foot during the attack.
The Istanbul Governor's Office confirmed that a handgun equipped with a silencer was found at the scene of the crime. Photographs from the area depicted a semi-automatic handgun with a silencer attached lying on the sidewalk next to the white saloon car where the victims were seated. The rear passenger door of the vehicle appeared to have been struck by multiple bullets.
The seriously injured victim has been identified as a businessman, adding further complexity to the investigation. The police are working diligently to gather evidence and identify the perpetrators responsible for this heinous act.
