Two men have been arrested in relation to a hit-and-run accident that left a boy in a serious condition in southern Brisbane.
The 12-year-old is being treated for multiple head fractures in hospital after he was struck while crossing the road on his bike by an unregistered car at Macgregor on Thursday afternoon.
The car, which was being chased by police, didn't stop after it hit the boy and was later found dumped at a nearby shopping centre, triggering a manhunt.
Detectives arrested two, aged 19 and 24, at a Woodridge home, south of Brisbane, on Friday.
They're still investigating the crash, which happened as the car was allegedly being driven through a red light during a police chase.
Highway patrol officers had earlier noticed the unregistered car in traffic and put on their lights and sirens to pull it over, when it sped off.
The police Ethical Standards Command is also probing the actions of the Highway Patrol officers involved.
The boy suffered multiple head fractures and was in a serious but stable condition in Queensland Children's Hospital on Friday morning.
