Police hunt after man assaulted on busy Jubilee line train in central London

Police have released images of a man they want to speak to - (British Transport Police)

Police are looking to speak with a man in connection with an assault onboard a busy Jubilee line train.

The incident took place on the Tube near Westminster in central London at around 9.55am on February 4.

A man sitting opposite the victim gesticulated at him and continually asked him what he was saying.

The incident escalated when the man leapt from his seat and repeatedly punched the victim in the head.

Onlookers were forced to intervene and separate the men before a second assault was launched on the victim.

British Transport Police have released images of a man they wish to speak with to aid their investigation.

The victim attended hospital and received treatment for bruising and cuts to his face, head and shoulder.

Anyone who recognises the man or witnessed the incident is asked to contact BTP by texting 61016, or by calling 0800 40 50 40 quoting reference number 2600014624. Alternatively, call Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
