A large police presence descended on a Bristol street after officers received reports of men carrying baseball bats around the area. Officers were called out on Friday evening (June 9) after a member of the public reportedly saw to men carrying baseball bats in the Winterstoke Road area.
On arrival a short time later, officers conducted a tour of the area. However, they did not find anyone matching the description of the two men reported.
Avon and Somerset Police said officers spoke with members of the public in the area at the time who told officers they had not seen anyone carrying baseball bats. There were no other similar reports in the area, a spokesperson for Avon and Somerset Police said.

Witnesses reportedly saw five marked police cars and an unmarked car attend the scene on Friday evening. A spokesperson for Avon and Somerset Police said: "We received a call at 8.35pm on Friday 9 June with one member of the public reporting seeing two males walking in the Winterstoke Road area with baseball bats.
"The first officers arrived at the scene three minutes later and conducted an area tour. Nobody matching the description of the two men were spotted.
"Officers spoke to people in the area at the time, who informed us they had not seen anyone carrying baseball bats. No other similar reports were received that evening in the surrounding area. Officers left at about 9.05pm."
