The grounds of the Royal Alexandra Hospital have been scoured by police as the search for missing man Barry McCullagh continues.
A large police presence, including the Police Scotland dog unit, was at the hospital yesterday as they searched for the 40-year-old who disappeared one week ago after going for a smoke outside.
Concern for Barry’s welfare grows more intense every day and police are desperately hoping for a breakthrough soon.
The last confirmed sighting of Barry was about 5.20pm on Wednesday, October 5 at the corner of Corsebar Road and Riccartsbar Avenue.
CCTV footage of the 40-year-old shows him without a jacket and it is believed he does not have a phone or any money on him.
Police have issued multiple appeals to help trace Barry, who is from Castlemilk, Glasgow. He is described as white, 5ft 9in tall, of medium build and has short black hair.
Police say that, when last seen, he was wearing black and navy jogging bottoms, a black soft shell jacket and grey and white trainers.
Sergeant Paul Connelly from Paisley police said Barry’s family have had no contact from him since his disappearance and are extremely worried.
He told the Paisley Daily Express: “Significant numbers of local and specialist officers have been deployed to carry out searches, investigate possible sightings and carry out other enquiries in Paisley and Glasgow.
"We are also coordinating with partner agencies including the NHS and Renfrewshire Council.”
Sgt Connelly also reiterated the plea that people in Paisley keep a close eye out for Barry – including checking their properties for any signs of him.
“I request that householders in Paisley check any sheds, garages or outbuildings for Barry," he said.
"It would also assist us if members of the public could review their private space CCTV systems, doorbell cameras and dash-cam footage from the afternoon and evening of October 5.”
