Police swarmed a Newcastle West End estate after a man reportedly began throwing things from a top floor flat.
A cordon was put in place around Clarewood Green in Arthurs Hill with dozens of police officers spotted at the scene at around 5pm on Thursday.
Locals and neighbours reported hearing a loud "smash" before seeing household items such as a TV, a fish tank, a chair and tins of tuna being flung through a broken window onto the road below.

Glass was scattered across the floor with several parked cars being damaged as a result of the incident. Eyewitnesses told ChronicleLive they were in shock at seeing the huge emergency service response at the scene.
One woman said: "All we heard was this big smash. There was a man who was throwing things from the flat like a TV, a fish tank, a chair and tins of tuna below.
"There's glass all over the floor and cars have been damaged. It's not the first time something like this has happened around here."
A neighbour, who wished not to be named, said: "I came home to see police everywhere. It was crazy to see all the officers and a cordon in place. I couldn't even get into my flat. There's glass all over the floor and I've been told the guy who lives there was throwing stuff through his window."
A police cordon was erected for more than an hour while officers dealt with the incident. The windows at both sides of the top floor property have been smashed.
Northumbria Police told ChronicleLive they were responding to an "ongoing incident", but would not provide any more information at the time.
It is unknown if there have been any arrests made in connection with the incident. Officers were seen conducting door-to-door enquiries with neighbours who may have been affected or witnessed the incident.
The police presence was scaled down at around 7pm with three police vehicles still at the scene at around 8pm.
