Police deny rumours car incident is linked to Epping asylum hotel

Police Epping

Essex Police are investigating a report of a man attempting to open a woman's car door on Epping New Road in Epping on Tuesday morning.
The woman described the suspect as a white man, aged 30-40, wearing a navy coat, jeans, and a woolly hat.
Police have dismissed social media claims linking the suspect to The Bell Hotel, an asylum hotel in the area.
Officers stated there is no evidence to support these online reports, calling such speculation “not helpful”.
Essex Police are supporting the victim and have urged anyone with CCTV or dashcam footage to come forward.
