Police cordon remains in place after men 'fight with weapons' in Nottingham

A police cordon remains in place after a group of men were seen 'fighting with weapons' late at night. Nottinghamshire Police were called to Foxhall Road in Forest Fields at 7:25pm on Tuesday, May 16.

Locals reported seeing a helicopter flying low around the Forest Fields and Arboretum area of the city. On Wednesday morning, May 17, a police cordon remains in place along with a police presence in the area.

It was reported that the groups were seen fighting with weapons, and so specialist officers were also deployed to the area. It is believed that some of those involved fled the scene on bikes and scooters.

Chief Inspector Neil Humphris said: "Officers remain in the area this evening and we ask local residents to be vigilant. Anyone with information, CCTV, or dashcam footage, should call 101 quoting incident 707 of 16 May."

Those living nearby reported seeing armed police in the area on Tuesday night responding to the incident.
