Detectives continue to investigate a possible political or terrorist motive for the murder of Ann Widdecombe after a man was charged with the killing of the veteran politician.

Joshua Kerry, from Rotherham, South Yorkshire, is due to appear at Westminster Magistrates’ Court on Tuesday charged with murder, the Crown Prosecution Service said.
