SACRAMENTO, Calif. — An autopsy on Tuesday confirmed that the body of Kiely Rodni, the Truckee 16-year-old who had been missing for two weeks, was the remains found Sunday in her submerged vehicle in the Prosser Creek Reservoir.
Adventures With Purpose, a group of volunteer divers found the teen’s silver Honda CR-V upside down in the reservoir. She had been missing since the early hours of Aug. 6 after attending a party with about 200 to 300 young people at Prosser Family Campground, several yards from the shore.
“The Placer County Sheriff’s Office and the Nevada County Sheriff’s Office are in communication with Kiely’s family and offer our deepest condolences to them during this extremely difficult time,” sheriff’s officials announced in social media posts Tuesday.
Sheriff’s officials said they did not have any further information to release about the ongoing investigation. Authorities said in Monday foul play was not suspected in her disappearance and death.
