Police close three and a half miles of road after incident

Police Merseyside Police Merseyside

Police have closed a three and a half mile stretch of road following an incident.

Merseyside Police closed Coastal Road between Ainsdale and Birkdale. Police closed the road on Friday evening (May 20) near the Weld Road roundabout down to Shore Road.

Eyewitnesses reported seeing a two car crash on the road, but these reports are unconfirmed by police. Pictures show Merseyside Police blocking Coastal Road and waving drivers away from the area.
