Police clerk held for taking Rs 5,000 bribe in Ranchi

RANCHI: The anti-corruption bureau (ACB) on Tuesday arrested a clerk posted in the office of the Ranchi senior superintendent of police (SSP) for allegedly taking a bribe of Rs 5,000 from a retiring policeman to take up his pension and travel allowance related to work.

In a statement, the ACB said the accused, Deepak Kumar, was a clerk in charge of the provident fund section in the SSP office.
