Police chopper called in to help disperse crowd in Merewether

A PolAir helicopter.

A low-flying aircraft over Merewether on Saturday night is a PolAir helicopter called in to help disperse people following a house party, according to NSW Police.

The chopper began circling Merewether and Merewether Heights about 11.30pm and remained in the area for more than 30 minutes.

The helicopter's high-powered spotlight could be seen aimed on the streets below.

Police had been called to Hillcrest Road, a spokesperson from the NSW Police media unit said.
