Police have caught yet another driver dodging the Manchester Airport pick up costs... by waiting on the hard shoulder of the motorway.
Sharing a picture of a red Toyota beside a police car on Tuesday (May 2), Greater Manchester Police shared a message warning drivers to use the designated parking options available to avoid a fine.
GMP Traffic tweeted: "We understand that picking up from the airport can be expensive, but not as expensive as a GFPN for parking on the hard shoulder. Hard shoulders are for emergencies only, not a car park!"

Police have previously caught a number of drivers using the hard shoulder of the nearby M56 to pick up and drop off friends and family in a bid to evade the car parking costs at the airport. More than three drivers were issued with fines in just one day last September.
Currently, drivers picking up or dropping off from the airport have to pull into the designated areas. All passengers can use the free drop off area located in JetParks1 where they can take a short shuttle ride to the terminals.
Alternatively, people can choose to be dropped off directly outside the terminals and train station at a charge of £5 for five minutes or £6 for ten minutes. For those being picked up, drivers can park in a pick up zone at a car park at each of the terminals.
These cost £6 for up to 30 minutes, £12 for up to an hour and £20 for up to two hours. Those picking up and parking for up to four hours will pay £30.
