This is the aftermath of a crash involving a police vehicle in Whitefield today.
The fully-marked GMP car with blue lights flashing collided with a blue Ford Fiesta.
The accident happned at the busy junction of Bury Old Road, Higher Lane, and Bury New Road at Besses o' th' Barn. The sides of both vehicles damaged as they collided near the United Reformed Church which sits at the junction.
The incident happened opposite the McDonald's restaurant at about 10.15am. Traffic in the area had already been snarled up due to the knock on effects of a closure of part of the nearby M66 motorway due to a serious accident last night and dense early morning fog.
