Police officer released from hospital over week after crash

Merseyside Police have given an update on an officer who was rushed to hospital in a serious condition after a police car crash.

Two marked patrol cars were responding to separate emergency incidents when they were involved in a crash at around 1.20am, on Monday, July 11 on West Derby Road. Four officers, two men and two women, were rushed to hospital after the incident.

Two officers were released from hospital with minor injuries just a few hours after the crash, while the two women remained in hospital. One of the women suffered pelvic and leg injuries.

A teenager has died and a schoolboy is seriously injured after a motorbike crash in Warrington.

Cheshire Police rushed to Holcroft Lane at around 9.30pm on Monday, July 18, following reports of a crash. One at the scene officers found a moped and another motorbike were involved in the crash.

Officers found two teenage boys at the scene, a 17-year-old and 13-year-old. The 17-year-old died at the scene while the schoolboy was rushed to hospital by the North West Ambulance Service with serious injuries.

Man attacked by 'crazy' seagull and left bleeding as birds terrorise street

People are "scared to leave their houses" due to "crazy" seagulls that are terrorising a Merseyside street.

Ryan Price, from Wallasey, was walking down Hampstead Road on Wednesday evening, on his way to the shop, when a gull "launched itself" at him. Ryan said the birds are "attacking everyone who walks down the street" and have been causing chaos for weeks.

He told the ECHO : "There's been a pair nesting on our neighbour's roof. My wife rang me whilst I was in work to say that she thought the baby had fell off the roof and that she'd seen the parents attack six different people walking past.
