Police begin investigation after body of woman found on beach

POLICE Scotland have launched an investigation after a body of a woman was found on an Aberdeen beach.

Police confirmed the body was discovered around 6.40am on Saturday, October 19 on the beach on Donmouth Road, Aberdeen.

Officers locked down Donmouth Beach for several hours before reopening it this afternoon.

The incident is being treated as unexplained but further enquiries are pending.

A spokesperson for Police Scotland said: “Around 6.40am on Saturday 19 October, 2024, officers were made aware that the body of a woman was found on the beach in the Donmouth Road area of Aberdeen.

“The death is being treated as unexplained and enquiries are ongoing.”
