Police arrest man on suspicion of intent to supply drugs after warrant at Burnage shop

A man was arrested by police in Burnage on Wednesday morning (March 8) after officers conducted a warrant at a shop. A 37-year-old was taken away in handcuffs after being arrested on suspicion of possession with intent to supply Class B drugs.

Officers from the Neighbourhood Police team also executed another warrant nearby, along with Tactical Aid Units, where cannabis was uncovered.

Greater Manchester Police said the crackdown on drugs supply in the region was part of a 'promise' to 'act on intelligence' they received.

In a post, GMP Fallowfield wrote: "A 37-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of possession with intent to supply Class B drugs at a business premises in Burnage this morning (Wednesday 8 March 2023).

"Another warrant was executed which saw officers from the Neighbourhood policing team alongside GMP’s specialist Tactical Aid Unit, seize an amount of cannabis.

"It is our promise that we will continue to build public trust and confidence by acting on intelligence we receive to make Greater Manchester an even safer place to work and live."
