Nottinghamshire Police are investigating after two men used a distraction tactic to steal a mobile phone at a Hallward Library, Library Road, in Nottingham, on May 4 this year. A student was sitting with two friends when a man approached them and asked if any of them spoke Italian.
After a brief conversation, he walked away and moments later the student realised his phone, which had been on the table, was no longer there. Officers believe a second man stole the phone while the student and his friends were distracted.
PC Aaron Mulcahy, of Nottinghamshire Police, said: “We believe the two people pictured may have information relevant to the investigation into the theft, and are appealing for them, or anyone who recognises them, to get in touch.”
