Durham Constabulary has appealed for information in relation to an incident which saw two cars collide and the A1(M) closed for several hours on Monday.
The incident took place at Junction 62 on the A1(M) near Carrville shortly before 3pm. It involved a Dacia Sandero which had been travelling soutbound when it crossed the central reservation and collided with an Audi Q5 travelling in the opposite direction.
Two people were taken to the University Hospital of North Durham, but the police have confirmed that no-one was seriously injured.
In a statement, a Durham Constabulary spokesperson said: "Police are appealing for information following a collision at Junction 62 on the A1(M) yesterday (April 17). The incident happened just before 3pm and involved a Dacia Sandero which has been travelling Southbound when it has crossed the central reservation and collided with an Audi Q5 travelling Northbound.
"Thankfully no one was seriously injured. An investigation is ongoing and officers are appealing for anyone who may have witnessed the collision or those with dashcam footage to get in touch. If you have any information, call 101 quoting incident reference number 241 of April 17."
