Police are appealing for information after reports a woman was raped in Bolton last night. Officers were called to Lyon Road in the Kearsley area at around 11.30pm on Wednesday (11 May).
No further details about the nature of the attack or the woman involved have been released at this stage. Greater Manchester Police have confirmed an investigation has been launched.
Detectives are currently pursuing 'several lines of enquiry,' the force said. The woman is reportedly being supported by specially trained officers.

Police are now calling for anyone with information, or who may have been in the area around the time of the attack to contact them immediately.
Detective Inspector Tony Lunt, of Bolton CID, said: "We are appealing to anyone with information or who may have been in the area at the time to contact police. The victim is being supported by specialist officers, and we have several lines of enquiry that we are actively pursuing."
