Police appeal for help in search for missing Aberdeenshire teen

Police are searching for a 16-year-old boy who went missing on Thursday morning in Aberdeenshire. John Howatt was last seen about 9am on July 21 in the Banff area.

He is described as 6'2" tall, medium build with brown hair and when last seen was wearing a black waterproof jacket, black joggers and white trainers.

Police say John is known to frequent Aberdeen and may use public transport to get around.

North East officers appealed for the public's help in tracing the teen in a post, stating: "Anyone who may have seen John since this time, or who has any information which could be relevant, is urged to contact Police Scotland via 101 quoting incident number 4176/21st July."
