The Metropolitan Police has launched an urgent appeal after an elderly woman was seriously injured in a collision in Hayes.

The 80-year-old pedestrian was struck by a car on December 11 at 8.36am on Reynolds Road in Hayes.

The west London town of Hayes is located near neighbouring Northolt and Greenford.

Police officers attended the scene alongside the London Ambulance Service, who took the woman to the hospital to treat her.

She is described as having “serious injuries” and remains in critical condition.

The driver of the car, a 20-year-old man, is assisting officers with their enquiries, according to the Met.

As part of the ongoing investigation, detectives have appealed for witnesses to the collision.

Detective Constable Rory Atkins, from the Met’s Serious Collision Investigation Unit, said: “Our thoughts are with the victim and her family following this incident.

“We are appealing for anybody who witnessed the incident, or who may have relevant dashcam or CCTV footage, to come forward.”

They have asked anyone who witnessed the incident, or who might have information that could assist detectives in their investigation, to call 101, quoting CAD reference 1749/11DEC.
