Officers are appealing for information after a dog attacked a pet and injured its owner in County Durham.
The incident happened when the alleged victim and her dog were walking along Wear Road in Stanley on Sunday morning, (July 10). It was reported a dog came from a nearby address and bit her dog and the victim as she attempted to intervene.
Police said the dog is thought to be a Staffordshire Bull Terrier and officers are now keen to identify the dog's owner. An appeal was issued by Stanley Police as officers urged anyone with information on the incident to get in touch with them.

A spokesperson for Stanley Police said: "Police are appealing for information after a dog and its owner were injured in Stanley.
"It is believed the victim and her dog were walking along Wear Road on Sunday morning (July 10) when another dog came from a nearby address and bit the victim's dog and the victim as she attempted to intervene.
"The dog is thought to be a Staffordshire Bull Terrier. Officers are now keen to identify its owner. Anyone with information is asked to contact PC Campbell on 101 quoting 77 of July 12."
