Founded in 2011 by Paul Burston, the Polari Prize is an annual award given in the UK for LGBTQ+ literature. The winners of Polari Prize 2022 in three categories-- namely, Polari First Book Prize, Polari's Children’s and YA Prize, and overall Polari Prize- were announced on November 15, 2022, at an award ceremony.
Poet Joelle Taylor won the overall Polari Prize 2022 for her poetry collection titled 'C+nto & Othered Poems'. "Here is poetry that defends our right to walk without fear, wear what we choose, be who we uniquely are," Diana Souhami, 2021 Winner and 2022 Judge, said in praise of the winning book. It is noted that Taylor also won the TS Eliot Prize 2022.
