Polanksi makes Green Party admission after alleged antisemitism from election candidates

  • The Green Party has been accused of supporting "crackpot conspiracy theorists" after several of its local election candidates allegedly made antisemitic remarks.
  • A dossier seen by The Independent detailed comments, including one candidate linking Benjamin Netanyahu to Jeffrey Epstein and another justifying the 7 October attack on Israel.
  • Further examples include a candidate who previously resigned from the Labour Party over antisemitism allegations and another who shared 9/11 and "false flag" conspiracy theories.
  • Green Party leader Zack Polanski admitted the party "may have to distance itself" from some candidates, citing the challenge of vetting a large number of individuals quickly.
  • Labour chair Anna Turley called on Polanski to withdraw support for these candidates, while a Green Party spokesperson stated they would investigate any remarks inconsistent with party values.
