Poland’s President Andrzej Duda expressed his views on the incoming President-elect Donald Trump's policy towards Russia, stating that he believes it will not be a soft approach. Despite this, Duda conveyed a sense of calm and peace regarding the type of policy Trump may implement.
In a recent interview, Duda mentioned a conversation he had with Trump in April, where he highlighted the Polish perspective on the situation, particularly concerning Russian aggression against Ukraine.
Trump and his running mate have raised concerns about the continued US commitment to Kyiv, especially as the conflict with Russia persists. There have been indications that the US might push for Ukraine to accept a truce with Russia.
Regarding US President Joe Biden's decision to allow Ukraine to use US-made long-range missiles against Russia, Duda described it as a sensible move and expressed his delight. He emphasized that this decision sends a strong message to Russia that Ukraine and its Western allies, including the United States, stand firm in their support and will not back down.
