'Pokémon Winds and Waves' Rumor Suggests New Pokémon, Type Coming to Gen 10 Game

Fans and players cannot wait for much more information to come from Game Freak regarding "Pokémon Winds and Waves," as its earlier teaser had scarce information. Rumors are now claiming that there will be new Pokémon coming to the game.

'Pokémon Winds and Waves' Rumor Claims New Pokémon, Type

A new post from a leaker called "BallGuy" shared on X claims that a new Pokémon is expected to arrive in the upcoming 10th-generation game, "Pokémon Winds and Waves."

According to BallGuy, the Generation X of the franchise will focus on a new Water and Flying-type Pokémon, featuring a fish and bird crossover that will be a basic and widespread Pokémon throughout the game.

Since "Pokémon Winds and Waves" will focus on the ocean more, it is speculated that the "widespread" Pokémon to roam around the region will be a fish and bird crossover.

For example, it is known that one of Kanto's basic and widespread Pokémon is Pidgey, the Tiny Bird Pokémon.

GameRant said that while BallGuy is not the "most reliable leaker," they have correctly corroborated a 4chan post that accurately described the Gen 10 starters we already know of.

What to Expect From the Rumored 'Mon?

The image shared by BallGuy is not what the new Gen 10 Pokémon will look like; rather, it is a design that did not make it to the final version of "Pokémon Gold and Silver."

According to GameRant, the Pokémon franchise has historically brought previous designs of Pokémons to later titles, repurposed to fit the new region's theme. This includes Shellos and Gastrodon, which were introduced in Gen. IV's Sinnoh, as well as the iconic Ultra Beasts from Gen. VII's Alola.

Since the rumor spread, this fish and flying creature was already dubbed as the "Both Pokémon" as it represents both the new game's themes, "Pokémon Winds" (flying) and "Pokémon Waves" (fish).

There is still no information behind what Pokémon will join "Winds and Waves" apart from the starter trio, so take this latest information with a grain of salt.
