A new event in "Pokémon Scarlet and Violet" could be a reason for the return of old players as it leverages an upcoming 7-star Tera Raid that will reward players with a rare starter Pokémon.
'Pokémon Scarlet and Violet' June 25 Tera Raid Unveiled
According to GameRant, the next Tera Raid for "Pokémon Scarlet and Violet" is coming later on June 25, which leverages one of the most iconic starters in the franchise, Hisuian Decidueye.
The Pokémon Company has been running a weekly starter raid rotation since January 8 of this year, with the latest being "Pokémon Sword and Shield's" final evolution form of its Water-type starter, Inteleon.
The event runs for a full week, which means it will close on July 2. It is part of the same 30-week schedule that has been rotating one starter Pokémon at a time since the start of the year.
After this raid wraps, the rotation will move on to Hisuian Typhlosion on July 2 and then Hisuian Samurott on July 9, marking the final appearances for both as well.
The timing lines up with a broader shift happening across the franchise, as ranked battles and tournaments for competitive play have already moved over to "Pokémon Champions," including Regionals, NAIC 2026, and the upcoming World Championship.
"Pokémon Scarlet and Violet" received its final ranked battle and update back in April, signaling that support for the games is gradually winding down ahead of "Pokémon Winds and Waves," which is set to release in 2027.
'Pokémon Scarlet and Violet' 7-Star Raid: Rare Starter
The headliner of the June 25 event is Hisuian Decidueye, appearing with the Mightiest Mark for the final time in "Pokémon Scarlet and Violet." This follows directly after Inteleon with the Mightiest Mark wrapped up its own 7-Star Tera Raid run from June 19 to June 25, continuing the same farewell tour format for the starter lineup.
Hisuian Decidueye carries a Grass Tera type for this encounter and comes guaranteed with six perfect IVs, making it a strong pull for anyone building out their competitive team or simply completing their Pokedex.
Hisuian starters are notable because they cannot be obtained anywhere else in "Pokémon Scarlet and Violet" outside this raid rotation, aside from transferring them over from "Pokémon Legends: Arceus." That makes this appearance especially relevant for players who skipped that game or never got the chance to catch one.
Beating Hisuian Decidueye also rewards useful items, including Herba Mystica, though players who have already caught the Mightiest Mark version once will not be able to catch it again, even though they can keep battling it.
'Pokémon S and V' Online Features Ending Soon
These weekly Tera Raid events have shown up before during the game's four-year run, but this marks the last time the full starter rotation will be available in "Pokémon Scarlet and Violet."
With ranked support already shifted to "Pokémon Champions" and competitive play centered there going forward, these raids stand out as one of the last consistent live service features still running in the original games.
Players hoping to grab any of these starters, especially with their rare marks intact, are running out of chances as the schedule continues to wind down through July.
