Pokémon fans rejoice: The Pokémon Company is set to host a new presentation featuring the latest news from the smash-hit franchise.
As in prior years, the event will take place on February 27 to mark Pokémon Day, the annual celebration of the first release of Pokémon Red and Green Version in Japan on the same date in 1996.
Chances are, fans will be treated to a Nintendo Direct-style showcase of new content and game announcements, peppered with new trailers. Here’s how you can tune into the virtual event’s livestream and be among the first to hear the latest updates.

According to The Pokémon Company, the Pokémon Day festivities will kick off with a 20-minute presentation on February 27 at 6am PST (2pm GMT). The entire showcase will be available to watch live on the official Pokemon YouTube channel.
What to expect at Pokémon Presents
Seeing as Pokémon Scarlet and Violet smashed sales records out of the gate in November, you can expect the event to focus on the latest mainline game.
Be prepared for the launch of patch 1.2, that promises to fix many of the bugs that have plagued the title. If we’re really lucky, we may even get a new DLC that unlocks a new area in the game and new Pokémon, both of which have been rumoured for months.
More realistically, we could hear about Pokémon Home compatibility, which essentially lets you compile and trade Pokémon with other players online. Support for the service was previously announced to arrive in spring of this year.
Sticking with Scarlet and Violet, a 7-Star Raid event is slated for the weekend before Pokémon Day. But, we could see more events lined up to keep fans coming back, especially as the Flying Tera-Type Pikachu event will be ending on February 28.
Seeing as Pokémon Day celebrates the game’s enduring history, a port or two of some classic titles could be on the cards. With Nintendo Online recently getting Game Boy and Game Boy Advance games, this could be the perfect time to bring Pokémon Red & Blue, and even Yellow, to the service.
In addition, both Pokémon Stadium 1 and its sequel are confirmed to arrive on the subscription service this year. What better time to release them than Pokémon Day?
