Did you know that the Pokemon universe contains four sisters who seem to have a fair bit of Irish in them?
Considering the franchise is around for the past 26 years and has over a billion game downloads in that period - making it the third highest selling video game franchise of all time - maybe it's unsurprising that they have characters from around the globe.
But we hadn't heard of the Battle Maison until very recently.

A tweet from 2019 from Amy Louise, an Irish illustrator, did the rounds once again in recent days explaining the life and times of Nita.
Nita made her first appearance in Pokemon X,Y back in 2014 and has three other sisters named (wait for it): Evelyn, Dana and Morgan.
According to Bulbapedia, the community-driven Pokémon encyclopedia, Nita had the following quotes when you played against her in a battle.
- "Hello-how-are-ya? Are ya in good form? I'm Nita. Welcome to the Battle Maison, pet. Sure, I may be the youngest of us four Battle Chatelaine sisters, but I'm still a class Trainer. I've been an owner of the Battle Maison this long while, I'm not telling fibs! I'd be in charge of the Single Battles myself. Would you do me a favor? Of a bit of a match? You will? Grand! Then let's begin at once!"
"Would you look at the cut of me Pokémon! What a battle, and me not trying for real even! Oh, I'm scarlet for you, pet. Made a complete and utter hash o' that one, didn't you now? But get you a bit more training, and you'll be grand. Trust me, training's your only man. The Battle Maison and Nita are both here and waiting for a challenge every day o' the year! We'll always be waiting for you! See you then!"
"That was great fun! En't you a jammie one! But then I know what you're on about, I do! Ye weren't really trying, then. Is it not yourself who is Hoenn Champion? Should we meet again, I'll be giving it me all! If you want to battle against me serious, you wouldn't be goin' astray to train up a bit. Thanks a mill! You come back again sometime!"
"Th...thank goodness... Thank goodness I could win... If I lost to the two of ye now... My sister would've... She'd've... Aye, I would've had to leg it..."
Now, tell us you didn't read those with a lovely thick Irish accent in your head?
