The hunger for the Hawaiian dish poké shows no signs of abating in the capital as Europe’s largest restaurant chain dedicated to the dish is set to make further inroads into central London.
Poke House will now take the fish and rice favourite to the City with the launch of its site in St. Paul’s while also beginning their expansion with a further site outside the capital in Cambridge.
The Cambridge restaurant site is due to open in early 2023 and is part of a rapid expansion for the restaurant chain that will include a high-profile launch at the newly upgraded Battersea Power Station on October 14.
Further sites are expected in Mayfair, at upscale retailer Harvey Nichols, hipster favourite Borough Market and in St John’s Wood.
The latest opening in St. Paul’s is physically the biggest Poke House site to open in the UK to date, with the 489 square foot location welcoming customers to try the Hawaiian-born Californian dish, in the heart of London’s central business district.
Since launching in the UK in September last year, with its first site in Notting Hill on Portobello Road, the restaurant brand has now grown to eight bricks and mortar sites in London.
Holly Hilton, head of marketing at Poke House UK, said: “We’re always looking to grow the Poke House brand, with new site openings in the best and most iconic locations. We’re all thrilled with our new St Paul’s site.
“We opened a dark kitchen in Cambridge earlier in the year and the city has responded unbelievably well to our offering, hence why we’re now opening our first bricks and mortar restaurant there. It’s a very exciting time to be a part of Poke House.”
