Beautiful and touching handwritten notes have appeared at the tragic site in Cardiff where two teenage best friends lost their lives. The messages have been written by friends and loved ones of Kyrees Sullivan, 16, and 15-year-old Harvey Evans at the spot where they tragically died on Monday night.
The site in Ely has become a shrine to the boys with a wall of balloons and flowers growing each day. Football scarves and rugby shirts have also been left in tribute as the community processes what has happened and grieves for the best friends.
One of the notes says: “I can’t believe you were both taken so soon. You were both the happiest, funnest people ever. I’m going to miss you both endlessly.”
One for Kyrees from his auntie and uncle said: "Our handsome nephew. We are gonna miss you so much. It's a cruel, cruel world, go look after Nanny Sheila and your big bro Jordan. Until we meet again. Love you to the moon and back."
Many have promised that the boys will "never be forgotten, while others say the boys will be missed and loved "always". Another said: "My heart breaks for the family of Harvey. I met Harvey when he was two and a half at nursery and knew instantly that he and Ky would be best friends. They went everywhere together. Wherever Kyrees was, Harvey wasn't far behind and vice versa. Such a handsome, funny young boy whose smile lit up a room."
One simply said: "RIP Harvey and Kyrees. Sleep tight beautiful angels."
The families have thanked everyone for all their kind words, flowers, and messages following the crash on Monday evening. Kyrees’ family said: “Kyrees was a loving, caring, handsome young man, a loving son to Belinda and Craig, little brother to Aleah and Jordan, and a special uncle KyKy to Myra.
“He was loved so much by his grandparents and aunties and uncles and his many cousins. Him and Harvey along with Niall were best friends since they were young and went everywhere together. They both had so many friends and were very well-liked doing many things together, having fun and laughs!
“They were loved by not only their families but by their community as well. Belinda, Craig, and families, would like to thank everyone for all their kind words, flowers, and messages since they lost their son.”
Harvey’s family said: "Our hearts are truly broken by the sudden death of Harvey, our much-loved son, grandson, brother, nephew, friend, and boyfriend. He lived life to the full, he had a big heart, and deep down he truly cared. He was a best friend to Kyrees and our thoughts and prayers are with his family also.
"We ask for peace within the community and request that people leave the investigation to the police so we can get the answers we so desperately need to lay Harvey to rest. As Harvey’s mum I want to remember our son as the fun and loving son that he was and not as the media are portraying him now."
