The smell of turkey, dressing and grandma’s secret apple pie recipe is in the air as the New England Patriots travel to the Twin Cities to take on the Minnesota Vikings in the Thanksgiving edition of Thursday Night Football.
But it could be coupled with the stench of a banged up offensive line for a Patriots team that might be missing three bodies up front. Offensive tackle Isaiah Wynn has already been ruled out for the game, while Yodny Cajuste and center David Andrews are both listed as questionable to play.
The mere fact that Andrews is even questionable is nothing short of a miracle considering how ugly his thigh injury looked in Sunday’s game against the New York Jets. So there’s clearly reason for hope along the offensive front.
But there’s also the reality that Patriots quarterback Mac Jones was sacked six times by the Jets defense. Will the injuries and obvious struggles on the offensive line sink the Patriots?
Ryan O’Leary and I discuss concerns and hopes for the unit on this week’s Patriots Wire Podcast. We also talk about the turkey day road game against the Vikings.
