The shares of PNB Housing Finance rallied as much as 5% on Wednesday, hitting an intraday high of Rs 1,138 on the BSE after the company on Monday reported a 4.3% year-on-year rise in first-quarter net profit to Rs 557 crore from Rs 534 crore in the corresponding period last year.
According to an exchange filing, the company's profit before tax rose 4.4% YoY to Rs 718 crore from Rs 688 crore, while total income increased about 9% to Rs 2,265 crore. Expenses for the quarter rose 11% to Rs 1,547 crore.
