The Prime Minister was forced on Thursday to defend his claim that he was “stopping” a series of climate proposals such as a meat tax, compulsory car-sharing and seven bins for recycling.
Tory parliamentarians said the proposals never amounted to real policy and even Britain’s independent eco-watchdog, the Climate Change Committee (CCC), cast doubt on Rishi Sunak’s claims.
