As temperatures continue to soar across several parts of the country, Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Tuesday urged citizens to take precautions against extreme heat conditions, emphasising hydration, vigilance and community care to prevent heat-related illnesses.
In a public message amid intensifying heatwave conditions, Modi advised people to “take as many precautions as possible” and ensure they remain hydrated while stepping outdoors. “Please keep yourselves hydrated and carry water with you when stepping out of your homes,” he said.
The Prime Minister also called for greater social sensitivity during the summer months, encouraging people to help those in need. “If possible, do offer a glass of water to anyone who is thirsty,” he said, while appreciating citizens who place earthen pitchers and drinking water facilities outside homes and shops for passersby.
