PM Modi to meet Indian Asian Games contingent on Tuesday

NEW DELHI: Indian Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi is set to engage with and address the accomplished Indian athletes who participated in the Hangzhou Asian Games. The interaction is scheduled for around 4:30 PM on October 10, 2023, at the Major Dhyan Chand Stadium in New Delhi.

This event is a testament to the Prime Minister's dedication to acknowledging the athletes for their remarkable achievements at the Asian Games and to offer motivation for their future endeavours.

India achieved unprecedented success at the Asian Games, securing a remarkable total of 107 medals. This performance marked India's most outstanding showing at the Asian Games.

The program will be attended by the Asian Games Indian contingent, comprising athletes, coaches, officials from the Indian Olympic Association, and representatives from various National Sports Federations. Officials from the Ministry of Youth Affairs & Sports will also be in attendance.

India concluded its campaign at the Asian Games 2022 in fourth place on the medal table, boasting a record-breaking total of 107 medals. The Indian athletes left an indelible mark on the Games with their remarkable performances.

This remarkable achievement saw the Indian delegation clinch a record 107 medals, comprising 28 gold, 38 silver, and 41 bronze, during the intense and glorious 20-day competition in Hangzhou. This achievement surpassed India's previous best medal tally of 70 medals, set at the 2018 Jakarta Asian Games.

The interaction with Prime Minister Narendra Modi is expected to be a momentous occasion for the Indian athletes, providing them with much-deserved recognition and motivation to excel in future competitions.
