NEW DELHI: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Friday waxed eloquent about Mahatma Gandhi’s attachment to Gita Press and the latter’s contributions in maintaining Gandhian values. His remarks is seemingly a retort to the main opposition Congress which had opposed conferment of Gandhi Peace Prize to Gita Press last month.
Addressing the closing ceremony of the centenary celebrations of the historic Gita Press in Gorakhpur, Uttar Pradesh after releasing the Chitramaya Shiva Purana Granth, the prime minister talked about the “emotional attachment” that Gandhi had for Gita Press and the manner in which the latter has preserved the Gandhian values till date.
