Plumes of smoke were seen over a town in Greater Manchester on Sunday evening (April 16) after a fire broke out at a closed down restaurant.
Crews blocked off Church Street in Eccles after the fire was reported at the former Eastern Tandoori restaurant at around 7pm. Huge clouds of smoke were pictured billowing overhead as the flames were tackled.
A number of fire engines were pictured at the scene. The cause of the blaze has not yet been confirmed but crews remained at the scene for more than 90 minutes on Sunday.

A Greater Manchester Fire and Rescue Service spokesperson said: “At 7pm on Sunday 16 April, firefighters were called out to a fire at a commercial building on Church Street, Eccles.
“Four fire engines, from Eccles, Salford and Agecroft quickly attended the scene and extinguished the fire using six breathing apparatus and two hose reels. Crews remain at the scene, helping to make it safe.”
