Plumber shocked at family's poverty steps in to help them pay for food and gas

A big-hearted plumber took it upon himself to help out a cold and hungry family after seeing the dire state of their living conditions.

James Anderson told of his upset after visiting the poverty-stricken household, with the parents struggling to cover their bills in the depths of the country's energy crisis.

In an incredible act of kindness, the 52-year-old gave the family £170 worth of food, gas and electricity to keep them going until payday, the Liverpool Echo reports.
