It could be a case of four seasons in one day for those travelling to the National Ploughing Championships next week with Met Éireann forecasting sunny spells, rain, drizzle and breezy conditions.
The National Ploughing Championships take place in Ratheniska, Co Laois from Tuesday, September 20 to Thursday, September 22 and attendees will want the umbrella under the arm.
Met Éireann says Tuesday will be "largely cloudy and dry" and while they also point out that "there will be outbreaks of light rain," these conditions are expected to be confined to Ulster and Connacht, hopefully far enough away from Laois in the Midlands.

It will be mid throughout next week and also overnight on Tuesday with temperatures staying above 10 to 14 degrees.
Those making the journey will once again hope the rain and drizzle forecast by Met Éireann for Day 2 on Wednesday will stay confined to the west and north as predicted by the national forecaster.
They say there will be "light to moderate southerly winds in the morning, increasing moderate to fresh later. Staying mild with highest temperatures of 16 to 18 degrees."
Overnight on Wednesday will be wet and breezy as rain moves eastwards across the country.
"Lowest temperatures of 10 to 15 degrees, coolest in the west and northwest, with a moderate to fresh south to southwest wind."
That will make for a rainy start to Day 3 on Thursday but conditions could once again play ball for attendees at the Ploughing later in the afternoon.
Met Éireann said: "The rain will clear eastwards on Thursday morning and will be followed by mostly dry and sunny weather for the rest of the day. A few showers will develop in the west and northwest, mainly near the coast. Highest temperatures of 15 to 19 degrees, warmest in the southeast, with a light to moderate westerly wind."
Beyond that, the weather looks to remain fairly settled on Friday and much of the weekend before a turn next Sunday.
